Silent Movie Month 2023

In 2012, City of Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick proclaimed October in Ithaca as Silent Movie Month, a month-long celebration of silent film and Ithaca’s role in early movie making history produced by Wharton Studio Museum in collaboration with many local organizations. Join WSM each October for screenings, exhibits, and events at Cornell Cinema, Cinemapolis, and many other local venues.

New Wharton Studio Museum Exhibit at the Tompkins Center for History and Culture
WSM has updated its permanent exhibit with a focus on the historic Wharton Studio building and plans for the Wharton Studio & Cafe.
The new exhibit also features drawer displays on different aspects of the Studio, including one drawer curated by the Cornell Fashion + Textile Collection. 
Tompkins Center for History and Culture is at 110 N. Tioga St. (entrance is on the Ithaca Commons)
Open Wednesday through Saturday 10am-5pm
 
From Silent Film Star to American Icon: Celebrating Anna May Wong
This Cornell Cinema-produced original film series features five of film star Anna May Wong's films from different times in her career.

A new festival dedicated to the virtual and visual relationship of music and film at Deep Dive (located on the Ithaca inlet)
The fest includes a number of silent films from around the world.
