Silent Movie Under the Stars 2024
The Mark of Zorro (1920) left its mark on everyone Saturday night for our 14th Silent Movie Under the Stars! The location at Upper Robert Treman State Park was lovely with trees all around the approximately 250 people nestled in to watch the film with a gorgeous original score performed by Cloud Chamber Orchestra — Robby Aceto, Peter Dodge, and Chris White — with special guest Damian Dodge on percussion. Thank you to: NYS Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation (Finger Lakes Region) for coproducing this event with us; presenting sponsor M&T Bank and our other sponsors; Joe Lamarre at Uncommonplace for another beautiful and bold poster design; to Roger Kimmel Smith for his two-part blog about The Mark of Zorro; Adventures in Climbing for screen projection; and Calf Audio for the audio set-up. Biggest thanks to last night’s audience for being there to help us make noise about silent film! See you next year!
